GLADYS JOYCE NIDERSTROS
Johnston City–Gladys Joyce Niderstros 80, of Johnston City passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 9:15 P.M. at the Herrin Hospital from complications following a stroke.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Monday September 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Lee Petty officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Gladys was born on October 26, 1929 in Johnston City, the daughter of Edward and Harriet (Pedley) Niderstros.
She was valedictorian of Johnston City High School class of 1947. She then moved to Chicago to live and work for several years. She was an executive secretary for State Farm Insurance until her retirement. She was an avid reader and was a member of the Book Lovers Club. Gladys was a member of the First Christian Church of Johnston City.
She is survived by a sister, Virginnia Lloyd of Johnston City; and a niece, Linda Lloyd of Johnston City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Gene Lloyd; and a brother-in-law, John Lloyd.
