GLENN BEERS

Corinth–Glenn Beers, 89 of Corinth passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 8:40 P.M. at his family home.

Services will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Thursday May 13, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Eddie Donelson officiating assisted by Rev. John Howat. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Corinth Cemetery Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Glenn was born on September 6, 1920 in Corinth, the son of Joe and Goldie (Malone) Beers. He was married to Pauline Etherton on September 1, 1939, together they shared 57 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1996. He later married Golda (Harris) Crain on September 14, 1997, they shared almost 13 years of marriage. She survives.

Glenn was a retired farmer and custodian for the Johnston City School District. He attended the Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Beers and wife Sharon of Pittsburg; one daughter, Brenda Smith and husband Mike of Panama City, FL; three grandchildren, Greg Beers and wife Kerrie Jo of Pittsburg, Alicia (Beers) Burtt and husband Guy of Cullowhee, NC, and Chris Smith and wife Tammy of Ozark, AL; great grandchildren, Cameron, Allison, and Colin Beers, Dawson and Autumn Burtt, and Caroline Smith; step-son, Larry Crain and Ann Nall of West Frankfort; step-grandchildren, Leslie and Effany Crain of Benton, and Michael Crain of Chester; step-great grandchildren, Zoie and Wyatt Crain; sister-in-laws, Reva Smith and Earlene Hendrickson and husband Lodge; and one brother-in-law, Ivan "Curley" Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Larry Glenn Beers; a brother, Howard Beers.
