GLORIA JEAN FARMER

Johnston City–Gloria Jean Farmer, 79 passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 3:00 A.M. at home surrounded by her family.

Gloria was born on June 28, 1940 in Johnston City the daughter of Royal and Helen (Little) Moore.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; cousin, Johnny Bob Moore; and lifelong friend, Otis Brymer.

She is survived by her sons, James Farmer, Robert Farmer, and Larry Farmer; grandchildren, Amanda Farmer, Robert J. "Joey" Farmer and wife, Olivia, Evan Farmer, and Jacob Farmer; great grandchildren, Amaya Hunter, Madison Pitchers, and Jasper Ellis; cousins, Jane Ann Wall, Richard Carter, Hellen Kelley; special friend and care taker, Heidi Stoeke; and other care takers include, Deborah Hunter and  Melissa Brendenson.

Gloria attended school in Johnston City and was a member of the Baptist Church where she played piano for 50 years. She served her community on the planning committee and accompanied many students for state band contest, her band kids. As a successful business woman she enjoyed traveling and often taking not so shortcuts.

Her 53 year battle with cancer has ended.

A celebration of her amazing life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Keith Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
