GUY W. KUNKEL

DeSoto–Guy W. Kunkel passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

He was born to William "Bill" and June (McReynolds) Kunkel on October 27, 1958. They preceded him in death.

Guy was a 1976 graduate of Johnston City High School. He was a journeyman lineman with IBEW Local 702 and jack-of-all-trades. Guy was intelligent, willing to learn anything new, and he had a dry sense of humor. Like his dad, he enjoyed renovating homes. He got his love of reading from his mom.

Guy is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Jeanne DeNeal; his children, Jason, Jamie, and Peyton; two grandchildren; his siblings, Deanna Barker, Patti Kirkpatrick (Troy Hall), and Paul Kunkel (Lisa); nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Jim Barker and Tim Kirkpatrick; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Linda (Vogt) Kunkel, Maude Kunkel, and John and Hilda (Vogt) Burns; his maternal grandparents, James and Pauline McReynolds; plus, several uncles and aunts.

Per Guy's wishes, there will be private family services.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
