HAROLD GENE BAKER
Johnston City-Harold Gene Baker, 77, of Johnston City, passed away at 3:35 P.M. Thursday April 6, 2017 at his family home.
Harold was born on March 28, 1940 in Johnston City the son of William and Alice (Martin) Baker. He married Arlene (Sine) on June 5, 1966 in West Frankfort. She survives.

Harold was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a veteran proudly serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City.

He is survived by a son, Vincent Baker and wife Marilyn of Oak Grove, MO; a daughter, Jaimie Glasco and husband Bryce of Johnston City; a son Christopher Baker of Johnston City; a son, Timothy Baker of Johnston City; six grandchildren, Jinna Glasco, Alaina Baker, Karina Baker, Lex Glasco, Seann Baker, and Jacob Baker; three, great grandchildren, Josie, Jax, and Jordyn; three sisters, Wanda Rosell and husband Ray of South Bend, IN; Virginia Odle of West Frankfort, and Delores Johnson of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Baker; a sister, Phyllis Grant; an infant sister; and best friend, William Devine.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday April 9, 2017 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W, American Legion, and Navy Funeral Honors Team.

Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis or to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
