Helen Kelly

Helen Kelly, 80, passed away peacefully in her Johnston City home on November 11, 2021.

She was born in Chicago on October 4, 1941, the daughter of Samuel & Christena (Manion) Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bud Moore and husband John Kelly.

She is survived by two daughters, Machelle Lyell (& Bob) and Lee Ann Murphy. Five grandchildren, Casey Hall (& Josh), Jacob Lyell (& Sydney), Zach Murphy (& Michelle), Ben Murphy (& Amity) and Seth Murphy. Nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Mariah, Taylor, Bowan, Ayden, Noah, Sage, Rory and Briella, and dear friends Kristy Urie and Charletta Beaver.

She loved spending time with her family & friends. She was an avid reader, loved word puzzles and very creative in a multitude of crafts. She enjoyed being around people and a stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet.

She was born in Chicago, lived in multiple cities in Illinois, lived in the Middle East for two years and traveled Europe before returning to the United States and settling in southern Illinois.

She loved much and was loved much. She will be greatly missed!!!
