HOWARD LEE JOLLY SR.
Thompsonville-Howard Lee Jolly Sr. 76 of Thompsonville went home to be with his Savior on Friday May 25, 2012 at 12:27 P.M. at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday May 29, 2012 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Eddie Donelson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery in Corinth. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church and Youth Group. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Howard was born on May 28, 1935 in Marion the son of Ernest and Mamie (Hollis) Jolly. He married the love of his life Ruth Aliene (Ray) on June 10, 1954. She survives.
Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the 32nd infantry division Korean Tank Company. He was a retired machinist working for 30 years at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet.
He was best known as a wonderful Godly husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He was a faithful member of the Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church and his church family meant the world to him. He will be sorely missed and Heaven is a sweeter place.
He is survived by a son, Howard Jolly Jr. and wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Vivien Harshfield of Morris; a son, Herman Jolly and wife Jamie of Plainfield; a daughter, Malinda LeClercq and husband Paul of Glen Ellyn; a son, Larry Jolly of Thompsonville; 10 grandchildren; Karri Huey, David Haake, Paul LeClercq Jr., Vancouver Harshfield, Jeremy Harshfield, Matthew LeClercq, Justin Harshfield, Elizabeth Jolly, Chelsea Jolly, and Stephen Jolly; 12 great grandchildren, Nathanael LeClercq, Camden Haake, Ethaen LeClercq, Kara Haake, Matthew Huey, Abigail Haake, Tavin Harshfield, Benjamin Huey, Reece Jolly, Kathrynn LeClercq, Peyton LeClercq, and Alexae LeClercq; and a sister, Ruby Simpson of Creal Springs. .
He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
