IRMA L. FRANKLIN

Marion- Irma L. Franklin, 85, of Marion, Illinois, passed away at 12:58 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2021, at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Bob Nolen officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Irma was born on September 6, 1935, in Carrier Mills, Illinois, to Orbie and Evelyn (Wall) Bailey. She married Lowell "Bud" Franklin on October 19, 1951, in Pittsburg, and together they shared 65 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2017.

Irma was a homemaker most of her life. She owned and ran Irma's Flowers and Gifts for a few years and then worked part time a few years at Fashion Shop in West Frankfort. Irma went to high school in Marion, Illinois. Irma enjoyed reading, playing cards, playing on the computer, shopping and going out to eat.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Pennie Franklin of Johnston City, grandsons, Kyle Franklin and Keith Franklin; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Dixie Bailey; several nieces and nephew; and special cousin, Vonnie Beggs, who was like a sister to her growing up.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, James Keith Franklin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Deloris and Paul Biehl; and in-laws, Lester and Bernice Franklin.
