Jacqueline Novella (Pearce) Stephenson May 2, 1930 – July 21, 2016

Jacqueline Stephenson, age 86 yrs old, passed away peacefully at Herrin Hospital.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, Jane (Edwards) Gombosi (Joe) of Lockport, IL & Richard Edwards (Cherie) of Romeoville, IL. Four Grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Gombosi, Matt Gombosi (Shannon Meinke), Kelly (Edwards) Lahiere (Brian) & Daven (Kristen) Edwards, and seven Great Grandchildren, Madison Gombosi, Ava Gombosi, Chloe Wallace, Trent Wallace, Gia Wallace, Catherine Edwards & Ava Edwards.
Jackie is also survived by her sisters Shirley Lantrip & Sandra Armes & brother in law, Norman Armes, and numerous nephews & nieces.
Jackie is also survived by a sister in law, Marilyn Stout (Gerald) & brother in law, Bob Kemper. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Robert of 54 years; and her parents Iva & Clarence Pearce.

Jackie was born & raised in Johnston City & played the bassoon in the high school band along with being a member of the girl's octet for four years.

She loved to embroider on her Janome and she also loved to read.

Jackie was involved in many lives thru her ministry of caring & serving others; through teaching Sunday school classes, caring & providing for immigrant families. During her 50 years of working with medical doctors, she endeared herself to many patients.

Jackie was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren. They brought her joy.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Jackie's sisters Shirley Lantrip, Sandra & brother in law Norman Armes, for their loving support.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Carmi Baptist Children's Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home, 211 W Broadway Blvd, Johnston City, IL 62951

Services will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Larry Shacklee officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
