JAMES COLLINS

Stiritz–James Collins 89, of Stiritz passed away at 10:20 A.M. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 surrounded by his family at his family home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 27, 2015 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion and Navy Funeral Honors Detail.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

James was born on July 29, 1926 in Stiritz. He married Joyce McReynolds on May 16, 1945 in Gretna, LA. She survives.

James was a WWII veteran proudly serving in the Navy. He was a retired U.M.W.A and Inland Steel Coal Company. He was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City.

He is survived by three sons, Steve Collins and wife Stormy of Stiritz, Richard Collins of Stiritz, Joe Collins and wife Cheryl of Biloxi, MS; one daughter, Connie Blades and husband John of Wiggins, MS; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
