JAMES "JIM" G. HENDERSON

James "Jim" G. Henderson, 56, of Galatia, born April 12, 1963 unexpectedly left this world to be with his Father on October 10, 2019 at 0510 in his home surrounded by his family. Jim was an active member of the Thompsonville Church of God in Thompsonville. He enjoyed dedicating his time to his church and his ministry in the BIG (Boys in God) Club and looked forward to the monthly King's Men Breakfast. Jim is loved by many and will be missed by all. He loved his children and wife unconditionally without reservation. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and provider. He was an active member of the United States Army for nearly two decades where he served in Operation Desert Storm in The Gulf War. His desire in life was for everyone to be as blessed as he was and to make Heaven their home.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 12 years, Steveny Jean Henderson of Galatia; 4 children Steven James (Brittany) Henderson of Chicago, Amber "Nikki" (Erik) Williams of Herrin, James "Jude" Henderson of Galatia and Phoebe Lynn Henderson of Galatia; Two granddaughters Harper Avery Williams and Lillian James Williams of Herrin; Mother Bonnie Henderson of Creal Springs; 3 brothers Rick Henderson of Marcellus, Mi; Steve (Patty) Henderson of Christopher, Robert "Bob" Henderson of Creal Springs; 1 sister Susan Trout of West Frankfort; several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters through Christ; Best Friend/Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Steve and Rita McCalla; adopted sister and brother-in-law Tania and Dennis Craig; and brother-in-law Kenny (Jeanie) McCalla.

He is preceded in death by his father John Robert Henderson.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Brian Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pittsburg with graveside military rites conducted by the Marion V.F.W, American Legion and Army Burial Honors Team. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
