JAMES RICHARD "RICK" MOORE

Johnston City–James Richard "Rick" Moore 70 passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at his home with his son and daughter by his side.

Rick was born on January 5, 1954 in Herrin the son of John Henry and Catherine (Pasquino) Moore.

He married his high school sweetheart Janice (Grant), they later divorced but remained good friends throughout his life.

Rick was a journeyman meat cutter and retired from Kroger in 2012. He was a proud member of the U.F.C.W. and supported organized labor. Rick enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, and riding motorcycles. After retirement he enjoyed traveling and took many trips to Costa Rica.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Moore; a son, Jeff Moore and wife Misty; a daughter, Jaimie Harner; a brother, Johnny Moore and wife Donna; a grandson, Blake Baugher; a granddaughter, Ivie Harner; special nephew, Zachary Moore; his grand dog and best buddy, Rudy; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Moore.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with Dennis Bernhardt officiating.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
