JEAN ALYCE COULSON
Johnston City–Jean Coulson, 84, passed away at 4:09 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at home, with her loving family by her side.
Jean was born August 11, 1932 to Frank Swain and Louise (Lawrence) Eli.
She married Jack Coulson on June 9, 1950 in Piggott, Ark. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage.
She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved.
Jean was a member of the First Christian Church in Johnston City.
Survivors include children Debbie (Estel) Hoffard of DuQuoin, Randy Coulson and special friend Karen, David Coulson and Lisa Phillips, all of Johnston City; grandchildren Derek Coulson, Jason (Jackie) Hoffard, Tiffany (Kyle) Hammel, Kristy (Jon) Neville and Ryan Avery; great-grandchildren, Clayton Hoffard, Zachary Garland, Alec Coulson, Grace Avery, Mason Bruce, Brayden Coulson, Carson Hoffard and Kayden Neville; stepsister Peggy Owsley; and half-brother Steve (Palanita) Eli.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Coulson; her parents, Frank Swain and Louise (Paul) Eli; and son-in-law Darrell Phillips.
The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided to her from Dr. Cuartas and staff, Dr. Griffin and staff, and her in-home nurses and care-givers.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday September 12, 2016, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Jim Cockburn officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
