JEAN L. RICHISON
Johnston City-Jean Richison 86 of Johnston City died at 9:27 p.m. on Saturday March 8, 2014 in Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She passed away peacefully with her children holding her hand and grandchildren and son-in-law by her side.
Jean was born on October 11, 1927 in Marion the daughter of Joseph Lonnie and Edith Pearl (Ramsey) Baker. She married Paul Richison on May 19, 1950 at Marion Second Baptist Church. They were married 59 years before his passing.
She was baptized as a child at Marion Second Baptist Church and she attended First Baptist Church in Johnston City.
She retired from Norge-Maytag in Herrin. She also worked at Sangamo Electric.
She is survived by her three children Ronald P. Richison of Carterville, Paula Jean Ball of Johnston City, and Carolyn (Elmer) Vachata of Marion. She is survived by four grandsons David J. (Kimberly) Vachata, Joshua Ball, Lukas Ball, and Justin Richison and two granddaughters Danae Vachata and Jeanelle Ball. She is surived by sister-in-law, Virginia Richison of Johnston City, by two cousins Virginia (Murvin) McCord of Wayne City and Jerry (Elaine) Ramsey of Mt. Vernon and an aunt Helen Prause of Macomb, Michigan; an aunt, Wanda Ramsey of Mt. Vernon; and an uncle, Joseph R. Baker of Western Australia.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Richison, her parents, sisters Vivian Baker and Mildred Baker, brother-in-laws Earl, Harry, Virgil Richison and sister-in-law Helen Hock; and an aunt, Helen Prause. She will be the first to rock her great- grandbaby Vachata.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 14, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery of Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Jean loved her family, her dog Lady, and gardening. Anyone who knew her knows that she had a loving and generous heart. She had many dear friends and good neighbors. Jean was loved by everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, until we meet again at Heavens Gate.
