JERRY RAY ALMAROAD

Marion-Jerry Ray Almaroad 70 of Marion passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2012 at 9:50 P.M. at the St Louis University Hospital.

Jerry was a truck driver at Thomason Trucking. He also had a heating and air conditioning business.

He was a lifetime member at the Creal Springs V.F.W. While he was in the army he was stationed at in Germany and Alaska.

Jerry was born March 26, 1941 in Whiteash the son of Everett and Gertie (Gibbs) Almaroad.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Ray Almaroad Jr. and his wife Linda of Snowshoe, West Virginia; two daughters, Melissa Michelle Almaroad and Sherry Lin Almaroad of Marion; a loving companion, Jean; two brothers, Steve Zinn and wife Sheila of Dongola and Richard Zinn of Whitecloud, Michigan; four grandchildren, Austin Gonzalez of Johnston City, Paige Almaroad and Zackery Boles of Marion, Kristi Phelps and husband Tory of Johnston City; and one great granddaughter, Erin Almaroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Norman Everett Almaroad.

Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday February 22, 2011 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W. American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
