JESSE JAMES BURRESS
Marion–Jesse James Burress 90, of Marion passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. at his family home.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Saturday April 4, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard.
Jesse was born on March 19, 1925 in Herrin the son of Jesse and Ruby Burress. He first married Vera who preceded him in death and then married Ethel who preceded him in death.
Jesse retired from Diagraph Bradley working as a machinist for 43 years. He was a veteran of WWII Army Air Corps and was a tail gunner on a B-25. He was a lifetime member of the Marion V.F.W. and American Legion. He was a member of the Church of God of Marion.
He is survived by one son, Bruce Burress of Marion; step-son, George Johnson of Marion; two grandchildren, Deanna Jones and husband Jerad of Evansville, IN and David Burress of Ogden, UT; and great grandchildren, Isabella and Atlas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Marvin Burress.
