JESSE RAY FARMER
Johnston City-Jesse Ray Farmer 76, of Herrin passed away at 6:24 A.M. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 22, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion and Illinois Army National Guard.

Jesse was born on September 30, 1937 in Stiritz the son of George and Anna (Thome) Farmer. He married Deanna Pribble in 2000 and she preceded him in death.

Jesse was a coal miner for 39 years and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He proudly served in the army from 1959 to 1961. He was a life member of BASS and was a member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City. He took great pride in beating the IRS.

He is survived by three sons James Farmer of Johnston City, Rob Farmer of Johnston City, and Larry Farmer of Johnston City; four step-children, Rich Pribble of Herrin, Scott Pribble of Herrin, Lisa Drummond and husband Randy of Herrin, and Kelly Pribble of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Joey Farmer and wife Olivia, Jacob Farmer, Amanda Farmer, and Evan Farmer; one great granddaughter, Amaya Hunter; numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother Donald Farmer of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Robert "Bobby" Farmer, George Farmer, James Farmer, and Kenneth Farmer.
