Joe Dean Littlefair
Joe Littlefair passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 4th at Franklin Care Center.
Joe was born on April 28th, 1931 to Joe Littlefair and Elsie (Blazine) Littlefair. He grew up on Prosperity Road. He was a 1949 graduate of Johnston City High School. He was a coal miner for 37 years, first as an electrician and retiring as a mine examiner at Inland Steel in Sesser, Illinois. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Joe's first love was farming and he was never happier than when he was riding his tractor or driving his truck. He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker. He built and remodeled homes. He loved being out with friends dancing and visiting. He was a loving and supportive father.
He is survived by his daughter Donna, granddaughter Laura and grandson Andrew (Theresa) Genz.
He was preceded in death by his son Joey, his son-in-law Michael, his father, mother and sister Violet.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Sr. Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial at Lakeview Cemetery will be at a later time with immediate family in attendance
