JOHN PAUL BARHAM
Johnston City-John Paul Barham 96, of Johnston City passed away at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the home of his daughter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday May 5, 2014 in Barham Cemetery in Marion. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and Illinois Army National Guard. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City's food pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or the cemetery.

He was born on December 7, 1917 in Williamson County the son of John D. and Grace Bell (Odle) Barham. He married Margaret C. (Curry) in 1941 in Cape Girardeau, MO. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2004.

He retired from Giles Armature and Electric in Marion after 20 years. He previously worked as a coal miner. He was a Veteran of WWII proudly serving in the Navy Seabee's 28th Division.

He is survived by one daughter, Marsha McNeill and husband John of Marion; two granddaughters, Paula Jo Davison and husband David of Johnston City and Andrea McNeill Anderson and husband Robert of Johnston City; four great grandchildren, Daniel and Jacob Davison, and Amelia and Ava Anderson; one sister, Opal Finley of Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Fred Barham; and a sister, Olive Pribble.
