JOHN FREEMAN RICE
Johnston City-John Freeman Rice 75, of Johnston City passed away at 4:44 A.M. on Sunday March 13, 2011 at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Services will be held on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City with Rev. Ward Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home.
John was born on October 14, 1935 in Pochontas, Ark. the son of Claude and Stella (Jones) Rice.
He was a Machinist for Rockford Power Train.
He is survived by four sons, Victor Rice and wife Ina of Johnston City, Joseph Rice of Johnston City, David Rice and wife Amber of Marion, Terry Rice and wife Sue of Thorton CO., three daughters, Susan Scott and husband Brady of Denver CO., Jane Rice of Dickenson TX. and Debra Zissler of Westminister CO.,one brother, Marion Rice of Pochontas Ark. and nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Claudine Nipps, Zelda Rice, and Lorine Marshall; three brothers, Jack Rice, Darrell Rice, and CB Rice.
