JOHN "BOODLES" ROBERTS

Johnston City–John "Boodles" Roberts 53, of Johnston City, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 8:27 P.M. at the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday October 16, 2009, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Sr. Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at funeral home.

John was born on October 4, 1956 in Marion, the son of Carl E. and Julia Marie (Cernkovich) Roberts.

John was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church of Johnston City. He was a big sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing the piano. He loved being with his family on holidays and at family gatherings. He was his father's care giver for several years.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosemary Franklin and husband Delmus of Herrin, and Suzanne Long and special companion, Rick Smith of Johnston City; two brothers, James Roberts of Madison, TN, and Jhan Roberts and wife Mary of Downs; ten nieces and nephews, Jereme Long, Zachary Franklin, Isaac Franklin, Rebecca Warren, Keith Roberts, Christopher Roberts, Sarah Roberts, Stephanie Roberts, Minta Younger, and Misty Roberts; ten great nieces and nephews, Britney Franklin, Ashley Franklin, Hayley Franklin, Bridgette Warren, Hannah Warren, Alec Franklin, Brenden Franklin, Rylan Franklin, Kamryn Franklin, and Madison Kerley; several cousins, an uncle and aunt; and special friends, Kenny Sine, Mark Payne, and Mike Pavlovic.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
