JUANITA MILDRED FILER

Marion–Juanita Mildred Filer 85 of Marion passed away at 10:45 P.M. on Friday December 23, 2011 in Herrin Hospital.

Juanita was born on February 23, 1926 in Fredericktown, MO the daughter of Lee and Bell Parson. She married Willie L. Filer who preceded her in death in January of 1991.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Stevenson of Goreville; one son, Rev. Keith Filer and wife Jackie of Decatur, TN; a daughter, Dr. Cynthia Freeland and husband Dr. Steven Freeland of Johnston City; three grandchildren, James Stevenson, Branden Freeland and wife Sheila and Brea Sherman and husband Christopher; nine great grandchildren, Cody Stevenson, Willie Stevenson, Briana Freeland, Madeline Freeland, Wyatt Freeland, Thalia Filer, Landyn Matthews, Branley Sherman, and Lani Sherman; a sister, Betty Navarro; and a brother, Chuck Parson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Mark Allen Filer; a granddaughter, Bethany Filer; three brothers, Orville Parson, Arley Parson, and Harley Parson; and two sisters, Esther Ferguson and Ruth Howard.

Services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Keith Filer and Dr. Cynthia Freeland officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Marcus Memorial Park Cemetery in Fredericktown, MO.
