Juanita M. Short

Juanita M. Short, 92, of Johnston City passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Marion Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on November 9, 1920 in Johnston City, Illinois to Andrew and Grace Cargal Brennan. She married Joseph C. Short on April 26, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He preceded her in death in 1999.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph (Sharon) of Savannah, Georgia; Gordon (Terry) of Washington; Illinois; and Michael (Christine) of East Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Gary) Trammel of Harrisburg, Illinois; and one niece, Donna Eyestone of Johnston City.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenley; 2 infant twin daughters, Sammy and Sandra; two brothers, Wayne and Harold Brennan; a sister, Edna Cobb; a niece, Cathy Nelson; and a nephew, Lee Carroll Brennan.

Juanita enjoyed a long career working for St. Francis Hospital in Peoria in the admitting department, retiring in 1986. She was a generous, kind-hearted person who always did for others.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Sr. Catherine Wellinghoff officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
