KATHY LEE DUVALL

Kathy Lee (Seagle) Duvall, 72, was born on July 20th, 1950 to Ozella and Robert "Si" Seagle in Herrin, Illinois. She is survived by husband, James Duvall of Johnston City, daughter, Kristy Cheers (Jerry) of Marion, sons Tony Gill (Tracy) of Herrin and Ryan Gill (Melissa) of Raleigh, three sisters Kay Beach of Johnston City, Diane Williams of Stiritz and Ann (Joe) Frick of Johnston City and grandchildren Delaney (Brady) Edmonds of Kansas City and Nikko (Bri) Cheers also of Kansas City, Dakota Burnett (Kimberly) of Marion, Sierra Gill (Joe) of Carbondale and Tyler, Korbyn and Peyton Gill of Raleigh. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, treasured friends and former co-workers. Kathy never met a stranger. She had a contagious smile and a sweet, endearing character.

Kathy attended Johnston City Schools and graduated from JCHS and later JALC from the nursing program. She was a compassionate and caring caregiver; especially enjoying her time working in the OB department. She worked at Herrin Hospital for more than 30 years. She was an animal lover, especially horses and was an avid Mickey Mouse fan. She spent her time crocheting, reading and watching crime documentaries. Her favorite music was The Beach Boys, the Everly Brothers, Garth Brooks, classic country and her favorite song was Crimson and Clover. She enjoyed a good margarita, anything chocolate and watching movies. She was a lifelong member of Stiritz United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oze and Si, brother, Frederick Oscar Seagle, sister, Julie (Judy) Calonne, lifelong friend Betty (Hartung) Kupczak and her companion and aunt, Flo Kirkpatrick.

The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards, messages, and care packages. A special thanks to her caregivers, especially her dear friend and neighbor, Rebecca "Becca" Troxel who was her primary caregiver, allowing her to remain at home peacefully. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Glioblastoma Research Organization.

The family will have a private service. Murman and Wilson funeral home in Johnston City is in charge of the arrangements.
