KENNETH A. DAVIDSON
Johnston City-Kenneth A. Davidson 97 passed away at 12:01 P.M. Sunday January 18, 2026 at Herrin Hospital.
Services will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Friday January 23, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mark Goldman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Military Honors being conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and Army Burial Ritual Team will follow.
Kenneth was born on January 2, 1929 in Effingham County the son of Kenneth Earl Davidson and Myrtle (Loy).
He is survived by daughter, Evelyn and husband, Ron McGee, daughter, Donna and husband, Scott Hall, daughter, Brenda and husband, Bruce McLaren, daughter, Melissa and husband, Bryan Gibbens, and daughter, Janet and husband, Adolfo Chavera and son, Joseph Davidson.
Grandchildren are Sean and Keegan McGee, Christina Dinkins and husband John, Brenda Lee Riddle and husband James, Rebecca Murphy (husband Robert) and Robert Etherton (wife Summer), Cheyenne Hall, Cecil Hayes, Jr, (wife Mariah) Brittney Hill (husband Benjamin), Joshua Gibbens, Amanda Prince (husband Anthony) and Alexis Chavera.
Great grandchildren are Zepher McGee, EvaLynn McGee, Liz Ricketts and husband Briar, Wyatt Riddle, Rhyder Etherton, Sawyer Etherton, Oliver Etherton, Collins Etherton and Ansley Etherton, Bethany Hayes, Brayden Hayes, Levi Hill, Anthony Prince, Angelina Prince, Christopher Shideler.
Great-great grandchildren: Maverick Ricketts and Noelle Upton.
His surviving siblings are June Ashley, Alice Frailey (husband-Jerry), Phillip Davidson (wife Kim). There are also many nieces and nephews that have brightened his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Earl Davidson and Myrtle Davidson. Brother Arther Davidson (wife Eva), Sister Martha Neal (husband still living Harold). Brother Jim Davidson (wife Mary who is still living). Daughter Marsha Suiter and Husband Chuck. His grandson Anthony Chavera. A daughter-in-law Bobette Davidson.
Kenneth A. Davidson is a veteran for the Army and served in the Korean War. He used to be an avid gardener, however more recently he has enjoyed putting puzzles together, and playing the card game Castle. He loved eating pies, especially Apple pie. He enjoyed playing the domino game 42 and horseshoes.
