KENNETH LEE SPILLER

Johnston City–Kenneth "Dynamite" Lee Spiller 71, of Johnston City, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 12:34 P.M. at the Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Ken Tiffin and Pastor Don Colson officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon on Monday at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on May 1, 1944 in West Frankfort the son of Edward E. and Lillian (Carter) Spiller. He married Phyllis Ann (Hoffard) on July 27, 1963 in Elizabethtown. She survives.

Kenneth was a coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a supervisor at Mariah Boat Factory. He was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, granddaughter, and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Herrin Church of God.

He is survived by children and grandchildren, Kenneth D. Spiller, Robert Spiller, Gina Summers, Daniel Spiller and Jessica, David Spiller, Nick Summers, Hannah Summers; a great granddaughter, Lanna Danielle Spiller; a sister, Glenda Colp and husband Bill of Herrin; a sister-in-law, Ramona Holland; 2 nieces, Kelley Patterson and husband Mark, Krista Elkins and husband Duffe; 2 nephews, Ronnie Gibbens and wife Sarah, Jimmy Gibbens; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and great niece, Jessica Marie Patterson.
