KENNETH A. STROUD

Johnston City-Kenneth A. Stroud, 95, of Johnston City passed away at 6:45 P.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.

Services will be at 1 P.M. on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City with Pastor Steve Shea officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with military honors conducted by the Illinois Army National Guard, Marion VFW, and Marion American Legion. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Marion VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Envelope will be available at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on November, 16, 1922 in Spillertown the son of Earl and Ida (Hayes) Stroud. He married to Barbara (McKnight) on September 1, 1942. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2008.

He was a carpenter. He was a veteran of WWII receiving a Purple Heart and serving in the anti-tank division.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Stroud and wife Barbara of Marion, Don McChesney and wife Brenda of Marion; two daughters, Barbara Deann Lampley of Marion, Darlene Robertson and husband Ralph of Marion; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Branche of Creal Springs, Patricia JoAnne Milton of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, and two sisters.
