DAVID KERBY GORE (Aug 9, 1954 —April 22, 2023)

David Kerby Gore of Ocoee, FL, formerly of Johnston City, passed away on Sat. Apr 22.  Kerby was born Aug 9, 1954 in Herrin, IL to Tom and Yvonne "Bonnie" Gore.  He grew up in Johnston City as a member of the Methodist Church.  After graduating from Johnston City High School he matriculated to Eastern Illinois Univ.  He spent his career as a college professor teaching industrial technology.  He retired from Eastern Michigan University with over 30 years of service. He retired to the Orlando area where he could enjoy his number one hobby, all things Walt Disney.  He could often be seen working as an ESPN photographer at the ESPN/Disney sports complex.

Survivors include Joseph Kenley Gore of Herrin and a niece Gretchen Gore of Plano, Tx.  Several cousins survive in the southern Illinois area.

A small family gathering for graveside rites will be Sat, May 13 at Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City.  Murman and Wilson Funeral Home of Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers please contribute to St Jude Hospital of Memphis.  Additionally, a scholarship fund in his name is being established at Eastern Michigan University.
