ROBERT KLINE
Johnston City–Robert Kline 94 of Johnston City passed away at 11:30 A.M. on Monday November 7, 2011 at his family home.
Robert was born on May 20, 1917 in Long Branch, NJ the son of William and Elena (Ressler) Kline. He married Emma Louise (Goddard) in 1947 in Johnston City. They were married for 64 years and she survives.
Robert was a supervisor for Inland Steel in East Chicago, IN, were he worked 29 years as a general foreman. He was a veteran proudly serving in the army air force during WWII. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Johnston City.
He is survived by two sons, William Robert Kline and wife Norma of Marietta, GA and James Wendell Kline and wife Anna of Crown Point, IN; a daughter-in-law, Jean Marie Kline of Henderson, NC; six grandchildren;10 great grandchildren; a nephew and niece, Louis and Joyce Schwarm of Marion.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son. Richard Wilson Kline.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday November 12, 2011, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Keith Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with graveside military rites conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and Illinois Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care and the caregivers Mary Lopez, Myra Elliott, Wanda Stroud, and Linda Vaughn. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to David Leigh, Don Phillips, and Pastor Keith Fletcher and his wife Sara for their many prayers and friendship and all his friends and neighbors.
