LARRY "BIG BIRD" HENSLEY
Johnston City-Larry "Big Bird" Hensley, 64, passed away on Sunday July 2, 2017, at 10:02 A.M. at Herrin Hospital.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Melvin and Larry Litton officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Larry was born on October 25, 1952 in DuQuoin the son of J. H. and Pernie (Crane) Hensley. He first married Alice Campbell who preceded him in death. He then married Joanne (Murphy) on July 9, 2016. She survives.

Larry was a retired mechanic at American Coal. He loved to help others and spend time with family and friends. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by 5 children; Jason, Timothy, Elizabeth, Angela, Charles Hensley; son-in-law, Jermey; grandchildren, Joshua, Strife, and Jaden; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, John, Richard, and Alvin Hensley.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
