LENDA RAINS

Johnston City-Lenda Rains 76 passed away on Friday March 27, 2020 at 2:26 P.M. in her family home.

Lenda was born on February 9, 1944, in Herrin, the daughter of Carol Berry and Thelma Nosotti . She married Audie "Doggie" Rains who preceded her in death on April 8, 2011.

Lenda enjoyed fishing, yard sales, her computer games, and her beloved dog, Annie.

Lenda worked as a school bus driver for Johnston City School District for many years. Lenda worked construction out of the labor union hall; she also owned and operated the Frontier Lounge in Johnston City. Lenda's dream job was mining coal for Freeman Four Mines in Pittsburg. Lenda was a current alder woman for ward 1 in Johnston City for the past 18 years.

She is survived by her a daughter, Angela Cobb and husband Randy of Marion; two grandchildren, Tara Brymer of Johnston City and Jamie Richey and fiancé Travis Borcky of Marion; great grandchildren, Paige Rich of Marion, Peyton Brymer of Johnston City, Autumn Richey and Tori Borcky of Marion; two sisters, Latisa Woodis and Regina Smith; and a son-in-law, Jake Jennings.

She was preceded by her parents; a son, Ricky Rains; daughter, Crystal Jennings; and a sister, Judy Leeper.

Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.
