LORETTA M. HAYS

Marion–Loretta Hays, age 78, of Marion, Illinois, passed away on February 24, 2026.  She will be remembered by her family and friends.

She grew up in Johnston City, Illinois.  She began her career as a high school teacher and later became a court reporter.  In her free time, she loved to travel to Florida, read interior decorating magazines, and shop.

She is survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, and three brothers.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday February 28, 2026, in the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Fr. Mark Reyling officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon Saturday at the funeral home.
