LOWELL "PUNKIE" EDWARD DAVIS
Johnston City-Lowell "Punkie" Edward Davis, 69 of Johnston City passed away at 10:10 P.M. Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 12, 2013 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Dave Nolen officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Creek Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W. American Legion and the Illinois Army National Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Lake Creek Baptist Church or to the Marion V.F.W. Post 1301.
Lowell was born on July 6, 1943 in Pittsburg the son of Lowell and Betty June (Arnold) Davis. He married Jo (Radcliffe) on June 23, 1967 in Marion. She survives.
Lowell was a retired machinist first working at Old Ben Central Shop for 21 years then at Roe Machine for 15 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam proudly serving in the army from September of 1967 to June of 1969. He was a member of the Marion V.F.W. Post 1301. He was a member of the Lake Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by four sons, Jesse Davis and wife Keri of Johnston City, Larry Davis and wife Stefanie of Paducah, KY, Frank Davis and wife Kelly of Johnston City, and Lee Davis of Alexandria, IN; nine grandchildren, Eric Davis, Tina Reagan and husband John, Kody Davis and wife Mandi, Lacey Davis, Garrett Davis and wife Jamie, Dalton Davis, Kennedy Davis, Levi Davis, Jacob Davis; six great grandchildren, Kolby Davis, Mel Reagan, Gracie Reagan, Daniel Davis, Addison Davis, Jack Davis; one brother, Everett "Curly" Davis of West Frankfort; two sisters, Norma Bilbrey and husband Doug of Cookeville, TN and Joyce Ealey and husband Rick of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom Davis; and one sister, Louise Vineyard.
