LYNDA M. SMITH
Johnston City–Lynda Marie (Payne) Smith 76, of Johnston City passed away peacefully at 11:56 A.M Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Herrin Hospital with her family all around her and she is now rejoicing in Heaven with her Jesus.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M, Monday July 15, 2013, at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Litton officiating. Burial will be in the Becker Cemetery East of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M Monday at the funeral home.
Lynda was born on January 13, 1937, in Johnston City, the daughter of Hubert and Odessa (Briscoe) Payne. She married Kenneth Smith. Who preceded her in death.
She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Lynda devoted her life to Jesus and her family.
She lived in Johnston City through her school years graduating in 1955 from JCHS. She then worked and lived in Chicago. There she started raising her family for many years whom she loved so much before returning back to Johnston City with her family in 1972. She retired from Maytag after 28 years.
She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy, Sunday School Teacher, Junior Church Teacher, VLB Leader, Ladies Missionary Leader, director of many church plays and skits. She also took her church children to many nursing homes to visit and perform the plays and skits for the elderly. She was also very gifted in sewing and crafts as she made all of the costumes and props. She was always working on spreading the Gospel.
She is survived by four children Pamela Krantz and husband John, Curtis Kalinsky and companion Jan, Rosemary Intravaia and companion Kenny and Sabrina Wiseman, six grandchildren Heather Krantz, Misty Lindner and husband Josh, Rachel Wiseman and companion Adam, Girolamo Intravaia and wife Elysia, Carlo Intravaia and wife Sarah, Ross Kalinsky and companion Michelle and seven great grandchildren Joshua Mays, Isabella Intravaia, Gabriel Intravaia, Gracen Intravaia, Lilyana Intravaia, Calvin Lindner and Valerie Lindner. One brother Ronald Payne and wife Ollie and several nieces and nephews and a dear cousin who was always at her side Irma Schoenbaum.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
