MARGARET A. HOFFARD
Johnston City–Margaret A. Hoffard 75 of Johnston City passed away on Thursday February 4, 2010 at 7:45 A.M. at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Margaret was born on January 29, 1935, in Johnston City, the daughter of Herschel "Cotton" and Dorothy (Tolbert) Hall. She married Gene Hoffard on March 28, 1953 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2008.
Margaret retired from Stotlar-Herrin in Johnston City as a bookkeeper. She attended the Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church. Margaret loved to sew and work in her flower garden.
She is survived by one daughter, Regina Wade and husband Randy of Carlinville; two sons, Rodney Hoffard and wife Marsha of Pittsburg, and Roger Hoffard and wife Kathy of Alton; three grandchildren, Caleb Hoffard of Johnston City, Ryan Wade of Portland, OR, and Amanda Beth Hoffard of Lynchburg, VA; two great grandchildren, Megan Hoffard and Nick Hoffard of Johnston City; two step-grandchildren, Christina Dinkins of Pittsburg, and Brenda Riddle of Wyoming; two step-great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Wyatt Riddle of Wyoming, one brother, Ron Hall and wife Dixie of Carmine TX; two sisters, Betty Bennett and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon, and Loretta Ku and husband Clarence of Oahu, Hawaii; one special niece, Ramona Holland; one special cousin, Sue Hooper; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Robert Hoffard of Johnston City, Mark Hoffard and wife Mildred of Johnston City, and Paul Hoffard and wife Donna of Eldorado; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jerry Hall and Freddie Hall.
Services will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Andy Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
