MARIA JEAN JONES

Herrin-Maria Jean Jones 66 passed away at 1:15 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 11, 2017 at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Zeigler Cemetery.

Marie was born on October 22, 1950 in Sterling.

Maria worked as a CNA in various nursing homes, a bookkeeper at Wolohan Lumber and a beautician.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Dolores (Uselton) Whitsell and husband Bill of Iowa; a son, John R. Hacko of West Frankfort; a daughter, Vanessa Hill and fiancé Gabriel Barnes of Marion; five grandchildren, Torrence, Mallory, and Haleigh Moore, Caleb and Kaitlyn Hill; two brothers, Wyatt Chapman of CO and Allen Chapman of CO; a sister, Anita Armenta of AZ; two aunts, Orlene Hargan of Johnston City and Flora Chapman of Coello; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward Chapman; and an uncle, William Chapman.
