MARION DALE JONES

Johnston City-Dale Jones, 87, passed away at 11:09 P.M. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the Herrin Hospital.

A private service will be held. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Dale was born on August 11, 1933 in Zeigler the son of Norman N. and Mary H. (Spengler) Jones. He married Carol (Leaman) Jones, who survives.

Dale was a retired Post Master working for the U.S. Postal Service. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church of Johnston City and he was a member of the Johnston City Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the American Legion of Zeigler-Orient for over 60 years and a member of their Honor Guard for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of Johnston City; two daughters, Mary Denise Gaskin of West Frankfort and Norma J. Jones of West Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church of Johnston City.
