MARJORIE HOWELL
Johnston City–Marjorie Howell, 85, went to be with the Lord at 9:20 p.m. Friday, Nov 26, 2010 at her home in Johnston City. Her husband and children were at her side as she peacefully crossed over.
Services will be held at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 1:00 P.M with Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday November 29, 2010 at the funeral home.
She was born Feb 21, 1925, in Herrin, IL the daughter of Albert Hacker and Velma Stephens Hacker.
Marjorie was married to Robert W. Howell, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Herrin, IL, August 29, 1980.
Marjorie was an active member of Harvest Time Worship Center in Herrin. Her favorite pastime was reading the Bible, listening to gospel music, and baking pies. A beloved wife, adored mother, and cherished grandmother and great grandmother, friends and family rarely got past the kitchen when they came to her home. Her love for family was reflected by her close relationship to her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was employed at Smoler Brothers in Herrin for many years. She was active in the ILGWU and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Robert of Johnston City; son Larry and wife Marjorie Brymer of Anna, daughters Sandra Brymer DeBord of Selma, IN, Marsha and husband Gary McNeill of Huntsville, AL. Step-sons Charles Leroy (Bud) Brymer, Robert V. Howell and wife Denise, Gregory Howell of Johnston City, and step-daughter Claydene Beeks of Columbia, SC, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Otis Brymer, infant son, Kenneth Ray Brymer, her parents, two sisters Evelyn Oliver and Imogene Edwards.
Friends may make memorial contributions to Harvest Time Worship Center, Herrin, IL building fund.
