MARJORIE D. (EBERHARDT) HUNTER
Johnston City-Marjorie D. (Eberhardt) Hunter 95 passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017.
Marjorie was born on December 9, 1921 in Johnston City, to Charlie and Myrtie (Dorris) Eberhardt. She married John Wallace Hunter on August 29, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1999.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. A private burial will be in the Becker Cemetery in Johnston City.
After celebrating over 95 birthdays, Margie leaves behind a full life of experiences and memories to those of us left to miss her. Her infectious laugh and child-like spirit are just a few things that made her such a bright spot in the lives that knew her.
One of six children, and the eldest daughter, she learned quickly how to rear her younger siblings, and take charge of those around her. As Margie grew and married, and had a child of her own, she was able to put her focus on her very own family; something she was very protective of and proud.
Whether she was cooking a pot of 'dumps' (her famous homemade chicken and dumplings), chatting on the phone with a neighbor or friend, out for a walk, or shopping for her next "find", she was always glad to see you, and ready to give you a warm smiling face.
Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Barbara Wilson and husband Gregory of Houston, TX; one granddaughter Caroline Leigh Wilson of Kerrville, TX; brothers Earl Ray Eberhardt (Merlina) and Jerry Eberhardt (Sue), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Dorothy Sharknas (Joe); two brothers Edgar Eberhardt (Rachel) and Glen Eberhardt (Juanita).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Johnston City Library.
