MARK ALLEN REED

Johnston City–Mark Allen Reed passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 10:08 A.M. at home.

Mark was born on August 3, 1959 in Wheeling, West Virginia the son of Patrcia and William “Louie” Barnhart.

He is survived by his long time companion and best friend, Janine Curry; 2 daughters, Morgan and husband Rick Edwards and Emily and husband Brett Auten; 5 grandchildren, Reid Auten, Will Auten, Hadley Edwards, Hazel Edwards, and Ellis Edwards; 4 brothers, Michael Barhart, James (Kathy) Barnhart, Jack (Karen) Bryan, Lewis (Debbie) Barnhart; sister-in-law and brother-in law, Carla Barnhart and Richard Wood; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Barnhart; sisters, Cheryl Franklin and Diane Wood; sister-in-law, Donna Barnhart

Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Rend Lake Masonic Lodge. He was of the Christian faith.

Per his wishes there will be no services. Murman & Wilson Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
