MARK KEVIN "POPS" SCOTT

Herrin–Mark Kevin "Pops' Scott 57 passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at V.A. Medical Center in Marion.

Military services will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday July 1, 2017 in the Herrin American Legion Post #645, 213 East Madison, Herrin, IL 62948. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Herrin American Legion. Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City is in charge of arrangements.

Donations and flowers will be accepted by the family at the American Legion.

Mark was born on September 18, 1959, in Litchfield, the son of Junior Scott and Lucy Perkins.

Mark served 42 years in the U.S. Army. He was a combat veteran in Afghanistan. He had 38 years of federal service supporting the military. He loved his children, his family, his friends, guns, and beer.

He is survived by his mother, Lucy Perkins; sister, Yvonda Johnston and her husband Doug and two nephews; best friend, Tara Garner and Robert Jones; son, Dr. Brandon Combs and wife Ashley and their 3 kids, Sophia, Arabella, and Brandtley; son, Trent Scott and his children, Colin and Tegan; daughter, Bailey Scott and sons, Darien and Miles; and 2 grandchildren, Zepplin and Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Scott; his son, Tyler Scott; Nephew Scott Johnston; and step-father, Bill Perkins.
