MARY A. LAYNE

Johnston City-Mary A. Layne, 99, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Jan 14 at 6:30 PM surrounded by her family. Born in Greenway Ark.,she moved to Rockford, IL in 1967. She retired with her husband and moved to Pittsburg, IL in 1972. Mary rode on the back of a motorcycle for 100 miles at the age of 96. She parasailed, rode horses, and was very active until 2 years ago. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She will be missed.
Mary had 4 children, Evelyn (Roy) Gipson, Shelby(Shirley)Hancock, Sandra (Jim)Marrs, and Gary(Rose) Layne, 2 stepchildren Wanda Shipp and Thelma Parks who also predeceased her, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Fred in 1991.

Services will be held at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnson City, IL at 1:00, Sunday January 18, officiated by her grandson, Pastor Scott Gipson. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery in Pittsburg.
