MATTHEW RAYMOND WALTERS

Pittsburg-Matthew Raymond Walters 38, of Pittsburg passed away at 11:53 P.M. on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at his family home.

Services will be held on Saturday April 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Brett Beasley officiating. Burial will be in the #8 Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the St. Louis Childrens Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Matthew was born on January 18, 1973 in Louisville, KY the son of Gary and Kristine (Wirth) Walters. He married Lori (Gentry) on November 11, 1995 in Marion. She survives.

Matthew was a construction worker and a member of the Labors Union #773. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer.

He is survived by his parents of Louisville, KY; his wife of Pittsburg; two children, Megan and Morgan at home; grandparents Ray and Glenna Walters of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Seth T. Walters and wife Sharon of Marion; and Samuel L. Walters of DeSoto; one sister, Amanda Killman and husband Jon of Marion; a mother-in-law, Beverley Sims and husband Carrol of West Frankfort; a father-in-law, Bob Gentry of Johnston City; a sister-in-law, Lisa Gentry of West Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katlyn Marie Walters.
