MERLINA EBERHARDT

Johnston City–Merlina Eberhardt 95 passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 3:45 P.M. at Herrin Hospital.

Services will be held at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City on Monday January 19, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Roger Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Monday at the at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Manna Mission. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Merlina was born on May 6, 1930 in Herrin the daughter of Domenick Refieuna and Mary (Giacomelli). She married Earl Ray Eberhardt on June 20, 1969 and shared 49 years of marriage. He proceeded her in death.

She was a retired school teacher from J.C.H.S..

He is survived by a nephew, Jay Refieuna and wife Jamie of LaGrange; 2 nieces, Jamie Schneider and husband Paul of Buckley, WA, and Laurie Endsley OF Clinton, MA; several other nieces and nephews; special friends, Butch and Pame Grant, Misty and Paul Cobb, Tammy Miller, Janet Melvin, Rebecca Crompton, Maddison Morris, and Steve and Palinita Eli.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father, Emery Sandefur; and a brother, John Refieuna.
