MITCHELL ERIC SUMMERS
Johnston City-Mitchell Eric Summers 52, of Johnston City was called home by God at 7:20 A.M. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with his son Jon at his side.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Mitchell was born on September 20, 1961 in Marion the son of Willis and Patricia (Smith) Summers.

Mitchell was an auto mechanic.

He is survived by his parents of Johnston City; three sons, Jonathon K. Summers of Johnston City, Rex Michael Summers of Marion, and Nicholas Andrew Summers of Johnston City; one daughter, Hannah Marie Summers of Johnston City; one sister, Diantha Kim (Summers) Evans and husband Allan of Johnston City; one niece, Ashley D. Tanner and significant other Keith Rogers of West Frankfort; one nephew, Alex C. Evans of Johnston City; several aunts and uncles, Betty Smith, Jerry and Rosalee Clayton, Judy Culbreth, Michael Smith of Johnston city, Paul and Darlene Smith of Marion, and Alice Giacomo of Pinckneyville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vicki Summers; an aunt, Nancy Smith; and two uncles, Larry Culbreth and John Giacomo.
