PAUL BLISS

Johnston City–Paul K. Bliss 75, of Johnston City passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY surrounded by family and friends.

Services will be held on Friday February 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Johnston City with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery of Goreville with graveside military rights conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and Navy Funeral Honor's Burial Detail. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Paul was born on January 16, 1943 in Oblong the son of Hubert Guy Bliss and Lona Fouty Bliss. As a child he moved with his family to Wayne County where he lived until he married.

On August 24, 1968 he married Carolyn K. Cunningham in Wayne County. Two children were born to them Angela and Ryan.

In 1981 Paul and Carolyn moved to Johnston City. He joined the First Baptist Church of Johnston City. On January 25, 1987, Paul was ordained as a deacon and served in that position until his death.

Paul has worked at a number of auto parts store in the area, Linkons, Blankenship, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, and John Deere. He was the manager and operator of Marion Installers when it originally opened.

Paul proudly served four years in the Navy during the Vietnam era.

Paul is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughter, Angela Dunn and husband Doug of Goreville; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Almaroad of Johnston City; three grandsons, Tanner and Briley Dunn of Goreville, and Noah Bliss of Johnston City; one brother, Dave Bliss and wife Donna of Fairfield; a sister Conne Hawkins of Albion; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ryan; his parents; and an infant brother.
