PAUL E. FARTHING

Johnston City–Paul E. Farthing 81 passed away at 6:30 A.M. on Monday June 3, 2019 at home.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday June 6, 2019, in the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City with graveside military rites conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and the Army Funeral Honor Team. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Marion V.F.W and American Legion Ritual Team.

Paul was born on October 12, 1937 in Carrier Mills the son of Otis Ray Sr. and Anna (McGuire) Farthing. He married Marilyn (Poskevich) on November 30, 1963 in Johnston City. She survives.

Paul was an electrician and a 50 year member of the I.B.E.W. #702. He was veteran proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. He was an honorary life member of the Buccaneer's Club of Johnston City and Egyptian Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a member of the Oleo Bird Club, N.R.A., V.F.W. of Marion and American Legion, Illinois State Rifle Association.

He survived by a son, Tom Farthing of Johnston City; a daughter, Deb Farthing (Susan) of Johnston City; 2 sisters-in-law, Angela Poskevich of Johnston City and Sharon Farthing of Carrier Mills; a nephew, David Farthing of Marion; a niece, Linda Ellis of Marion; a niece, Julie Farthing of Metropolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Albert Crook and Otis Farthing Jr.
