PHILIP GILLMORE JR.

Johnston City-Philip Gillmore Jr. 81 of Johnston City passed away Friday November 7, 2014 at 7:34 A.M. at his family home.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday November 10, 2014 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Michael Glasco officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion V.F.W., American Legion, and Illinois Army National Guard.

Philip was born on June 30, 1933 in Grider, Arkansas the son of Philip and Leona (Chipman) Gillmore. He married Nancy (Thomas) on August 5, 1960 in Chicago. She survives.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Johnston City. He lived to fish and farm.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Gillmore of Johnston City; two grandsons, Philip James Gillmore and fiancée Summer Williford, and Zachary Gillmore; one great granddaughter, Danica Gillmore; one brother, Gerald Wayne Gillmore and wife Clara of Chicago; one sister, Marsha Sue Johnston and husband Brady of Ripley, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Donald G. Gillmore
