PHYLLIS ANN GADDIS
Johnston City- Phyllis Ann Gaddis 80 of Johnston City passed away on Friday March 23, 2012 at 12:31 A.M. at the Herrin Hospital with her loving children by her side.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday March 26, 2012 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
Memorials may be made to the Johnston City Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Phyllis was born on April 13, 1931 in Marion the daughter of Ransom and Lola (Moake) Presley. She married Bobby Douglas Gaddis on December 23, 1950 in Johnston City. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2008.
Phyllis was a homemaker and worked at the Johnston City Library for many years. She graduated from the Johnston City High School. She was a member of the Washington Ave. Baptist Church in Johnston City and attended the Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Prosise and husband James of Marion; one son, David Gaddis and wife Joy of Johnston City; four grandchildren, Amy Beck and husband James of Huntsville, AL, Brandon Gaddis and wife Mara of Johnston City, James Prosise Jr. of Henderson, KY and Angelina Summers and husband Steve of Eldorado; nine great grandchildren, Anna Beck, David Beck, Jaxson Prosise, Elijah Prosise, Isaiah Prosise, Caleb Prosise, Gracie Prosise, Zakkory Summers, and Gage Summers; a sister, Lois Marquardt of Maryville, TN; three brother-in-laws, Valice Dean Gaddis and wife Annie of Albuquerque, NM, Donald Gaddis and wife Sharon of Herrin, and Charles Gaddis and wife Almeda of Marion; two sister-in-laws, Betty Williams of Johnston City, and Pat Wallace and husband Dennis of West Frankfort; a friend and caregiver, Vicki McVey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lowell Presley; an infant brother-in-law, Joseph Gaddis; four brothers-in-laws, Lester Gaddis and wife Judy, Kenneth Gaddis and wife Beverly, Ralph Williams and Charles Marquardt.
