RALPH E. GRANT SR.

Marion-Ralph E. Grant Sr., 78 passed away at 6:22 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Kindred Hospital in Springfield.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday March 1, 2013 at the Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Egyptian Memorial Gardens of Energy. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Ralph was born on June 6, 1934 in Johnston City the son of Ralph and Pauline (Fowler) Grant. He married Olive Vancauwelaert on November 28, 1953 in Johnston City. She survives.

Ralph was a construction worker, working as Superintendent of Highways for the S.J. Groves & Sons Construction Company.

He is survived by his wife of Marion; 5 sons, Ralph E. Grant Jr. and wife Nancy of Petersburg, Keith Grant of Johnston City, David Grant and wife Monica of Raytown, MO, Steven Grant of Independence, MO, Michael Grant of Raytown, MO; 4 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 2 great granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; 2 sisters, Ruth Smith of Corinth and Carrol Clendenin and husband Larry of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold Grant; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Clifton Mahan; and a brother-in-law, Alfred Smith.
